The story continues…
It is now 2017 and I have learnt a lot since we started breeding. We have become a small boutique style breeding complex and have taken on a wholistic view of care both internally and externally for our horses. As a result we now do hair testing analysis on all our horses and monitor worm egg counts throughout the year. All the horses are on individual mineral supplements depending on how their test results are and by doing this we are optimising breeding results and trying to eliminate birthing issues like retained placentas. It is still early days but the next few breeding seasons will let us know that we are on the right track. This season was a positive start as all the mares fell pregnant on the first go with minimal breedings.
The foals are on worming programs designed for young ones as this is a crucial time of their life and trying to avoid future stomach problems so anyone buying one of our foals rest assured these babies will be at optimum health when they go to their new home. All our horses are monitored for muscle issues and are regularly given red light therapy and massage by me even the foals are worked on and they all love it.
