Mount Darragh Friesian Farm Stay
The farmhouse is old but has been spruced up and modernised it has a great feel and is light and airy. Bathroom is typical older style but very big it also has a spa bath. The outlook is beautiful and looks over the paddock where my stallion Friso stays. We are on about 70 acres. This property is a working Friesian horse breeding establishment.
The farmhouse has stairs leading up to the veranda. The bedrooms are all good sizes 2 of the bedrooms are adjoined therefore you have to access to back bedroom through one of the other bedrooms.
Kitchen has all modern appliances including bread maker. There are some basic pantry items.
The town of Wyndham has a great general store/cafe that serves breakfast and lunch and also has general grocerys it is open 6 days a week.
Merimbula is an easy 30 min drive from the farm with some amazing beaches these beaches are horse and dog friendly.
We have electric fencing on all our fences so any children or dogs have to be supervised at all times.
We have dogs, chooks and cats as well as the horses so any dogs coming onto the property need to be friendly. We also have dams that are easily accessible this is important to know especially if you have young children. You are free to wander around the property except the paddocks where the horses are unless accompanied by myself.
This unique opportunity to see how my breeding stud farm works from feeding to training and if you are lucky enough there is an opportunity to see foals being born as I am there for all my foals when they are born. This is done in either the stable or undercover yards.
Water is tank water and is great for drinking but also very valuable so please be aware of not wasting by using excessively.

Our stay at Sue’s place was very last-minute, after a planned camping trip fell through. Sue’s prompt response really helped us out of a jam, and we (self, husband, baby, and two dogs!) showed up at her place within half an hourof making the booking. The Farmhouse has a quirky layout, with 3 bedrooms, one of them with a king-sized bed. The bathroom is huge and includes a spa, a good shower and plenty of hot water. The kitchen is well provisioned. The property is located in a lush valley, and there’s dogs, cats, chickens, and some of the most beautiful horses you’ll see. Sue was kind enough to take me around to meet some of them. Sue was a friendly and kind host, and I would recommend her place.Isa
I spent five blissful days and nights in this delightful old farmhouse, which has been done up beautifully. I loved the front verandah – it’s the perfect place to sit and soak up the magic of the surrounding countryside – especially at sunrise and sunset! Sue is the dream host, helpful and caring and happy to share the pleasures of living on a farm. I was overwhelmed by her generosity when she offered to take photos of me on Friso, so that my friends could see where I had been holidaying. They were delighted! It was perfect. I will be back again as soon as possible! Many, many thanks Sue and Nick, for providing such a beautiful home away from home.Joy White Queensland
My family stayed at Sue and Nick’s farm stay in July. We have already planned our return trip. It was fantastic and was the family country get away we all needed. The cottage was lovely and spacious with plenty of firewood for toasty winter nights. The beds were very comfortable and the morning views are simply lovely (not to mention the coffee!). Lots of farm fresh eggs every morning, our kids running through the fields, playing with pups and feeding the horses along with Sue, the toasting marshmallows under the stars…it was brilliant. Our children also loved the opportunity to ride, under Sue’s excellent tuition. Thank you Sue and Nick for all your generosity and hospitality, for sharing your passion for your absolutely magnificent horses, and for making us feel like we were staying at a friend’s farm. We can’t wait to return! Kath, Dave and the (very happy) kids.Kath & Dave
